What a better place to visit than Lake Tahoe in the summer time. People often think of Lake Tahoe for skiing but once they come in the summer they realize what an amazing year round place this is.
For the hiking enthusiast I recommend Rubicon Trail accessed from D.L. Bliss State Park. There is a fee to park but after you are done hiking you can drive down and take a dip in the lake to cool off. Gorgeous views of Lake Tahoe and the crystal clear waters as you meander along the trail along the edges of Lake Tahoe.
If you prefer mountain biking and have different age groups with you I highly recommend the Nordic Center in Tahoe City which is a Mountain Bike Center in the summer. They have bike rentals and miles and miles of trails for the beginner up to the expert. Trails are well marked so you won’t get lost.

After a day of playing outdoors you have worked up quite an appetite. Whether you are looking for casual dining or something more there are a lot of options to choose from. My favorite place for fish tacos is Sunnyside http://www.sunnysideresort.com/, get there early and get a seat on the outdoor deck overlooking the lake. For a great burger and outdoor seating on the Truckee River I recommend the Bridgetender http://www.tahoebridgetender.com/.
Tahoe has something for everyone!
