“Come for the winter and stay for the summer” is one of the most popular sayings amongst Tahoe locals and for good reason. Summertime in Tahoe brings boundless activities to do and gorgeous weather to enjoy. Along with the many amazing outdoor activities comes the return of local farmer’s markets!
Farmers and artisans, travel from all over the region to share their talents and goods with the community. Take advantage of all the hand made, baked fresh, locally grown foods found at these amazing summer happenings. These lively events also feature all sorts of goods as well! From soaps to wine to arts and crafts at there’s definitely something for everyone!
With plenty to do for the whole family, our local farmer’s markets offer entertainment for all ages. Help support the community with a visit to one of the many local markets that pop up around the basin from now until fall!
Here’s a list of some of the markets found around the lake this summer…
South Lake Tahoe Farmer’s Market
Located on Ski-Run Blvd. and kicks off Friday, June 7.
Fridays from 3-8pm and runs through August
South Lake Farmer’s Market provides live entertainment, kids bounce house, fresh produce, artisans, local eats and over 35 vendors. Visit skirunfarmersmarket.com for more information.
Incline Village Farmer’s Market
Located in the library parking lot at 845 Alder Ave., Incline Village
Thursdays from 3-6pm
Tahoe City Farmer’s Market
Located at Commons Beach, 400 North Lake Blvd. in Tahoe City
Thursdays from 8am-1pm and runs through October 11
Over 20 vendors bring chocolate, produce, soaps, and more. Enjoy close up views of the lake while you shop!
Truckee
Located in Truckee at 12047 Donner Pass Rd.
Sundays from 9am-1pm and runs June 16-September 29
Presented by Slow Food Lake Tahoe. Truckee’s market focuses on supporting local farms and producers within a 125-mile radius of the Town of Truckee. Some of the highlights include fresh fruits and vegetables, herbs, berries, honey, jam, fresh cut flowers, meats, eggs, kombucha, and even locally made wine!
Lake Tahoe Flea Market
Although this is not technically a farmers market, south lake flea market has fresh produce and much more! New and used goods, arts, and crafts are on sale here as well and has been a community staple since 1974.
Located at US 50 and Elks Club Drive, in South Lake Tahoe just 1 mile south of Lake Tahoe Airport.
Saturdays and Sundays through September starting at 8 am.
